Giving Tuesday

You may not have heard of Esopus Spitzenburg or Ben Davis apples, but they are a couple of the many delicious heirloom apples growing at The Orchard Gardens at Holy Cross, hidden in plain sight right here in South Bellevue. Our volunteer run nonprofit provides ongoing care for this hidden gem of green space, and we need your help!

This space was once part of a farm in the early 1900’s, with extensive orchards. Then for many years it was the property of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, who began revitalizing the remaining heirloom fruit trees, founded our associated P-patch garden, and named it all The Orchard Gardens. When the land was sold to Habitat for Humanity, the agreement was made that these green spaces would remain, with The Orchard Gardens being responsible for it’s care. Mowing, watering, and tree care are important budget items. We ask your financial support to help us care for this peaceful oasis, and keep it beautiful for community use.

Thanks for your support!
